They are protected, well fed, have access to small “lakes,” have massive amounts of space to roam, and the climate is relatively similar to their natural habitats. (On a side note, this place seems like a real safe haven for these animals. Some of the more dominant animals have learned to stand in front of cars so that you can’t move and are forced to feed them to get them out of the way - LOL! The animals at the last half of the road are much less aggressive - I’m guessing my because most people run out of food by then so they haven’t learned to come up to the cars.

We rolled the windows up when there were animals that we definitely did not want coming into the car. they were sticking their heads in the car to eat, and to just look around it seemed. We were a little surprised by comfortable. The price of admission got you just that but you could purchase buckets of feed to use throughout the ride, and the attendant was kind enough to let us know which animals will eat a lot, and potentially also knock the bucket out of our hands! So, we began driving well-informed and fed a number of animals. They came right up to the car, whether or not you had food or not but clearly, they were looking for food. What a wonderful, unexpected find near Montgomery! We went to the Safari Park with relatively low expectations and we were impressed! All of us have been on safaris on the continent of Africa before, and I think we were amazed by how much interaction you could have the animals here.
